New Quilts

Well, really, old quilts. When I teach, I take quilts with me so people can actually examine them up close.  As you might expect, it's a bit hard on the quilts so I do change them every so often.  The quilts that I have for sale were my teaching quilts that have done their duty. Do not expect them to be perfect!  These quilts are best described as loved. http://quiltbug.com/quilts.htm

Quilters Quest Shop Hop BagTen Days to the 10th Anniversary Shop Hop!

To celebrate the 10th year of the Quilters Quest Shop Hop, the theme this year is "Thanks for being our friend".  All participating shops are giving you three 10" squares...AND... not only are they giving you fabric for a project, but they are giving you the pattern to use in it, too!  If you finish the entire shop hop, you will have 12 patterns for various projects using 10 inch squares like purses, totes, aprons, table runners and quilts.

Won't you be our friend this year?  The shop hop is May 31 - June 3.

If you are not local, be sure to read the newsletter I will send out that week.  There is a way you can participate, too!

Catamehtysos

Catamehtysos is an original Catskill Cat, about 28 inches tall and made of fiberglass.  Sponsored by the Catskill Art association, she lived outdoors last summer until she was auctioned for over $1000.  You can see her in this Animal Planet video.  She was an award winner last year, and even featured on a US Stamp!  The owner thought she looked a bit like a Patchwork Quilt and since she is painted in CF colors, she donated the cat to us to raffle as a fund raiser.

Wouldn't she look good in your living room, or by your mailbox? Or, if you win Catamehtysos, you could donate her to your local animal shelter to be raffled off as a fund raiser once again.  Tickets are $2, and only 500 have been printed.  If you would like to take a chance, you can Purchase a Raffle Ticket online or mail a check made out to Cystic Fibrosis to Quiltbug.com, PO Box 273, Esperance NY  12066.  If the winner is not local, the shop will pay for shipping. The drawing will be June 3, 2012.

Quilters are the Ultimate Recyclers

Are you a recycler?  If you are in the Albany area, your unwanted paper, newspapers, old books, cardboard, etc can raise money for Cystic Fibrosis! GreenFiber will be matching all donations for the proceeds for paper recycling for the Cystic Fibrosis Walk this month. This year the bin is at the CF office at 16 Wade Road, Albany NY - so please bring all your recycling there throughout the month. Remember the more you recycle the more we can donate to CF!!
