Hello and welcome back! This is the Quiltbus News and Views list, an occasional newsletter telling you about the events at the Quiltbug Shop or at the Hickory Hills Quiltbus website.

along with the latest Quilters Travel Companion

Quitlers Dream Green

and a brand new product from Quilters Dream: Dream Green! This is a polyester batting made completely from recycled bottles. It’s really very nice batting - if you like Dream Poly, you will like Dream Green. Studies show that the energy saved by recycling a single plastic bottle – as compared to producing a new one from scratch – is enough to power a single 60_watt bulb for six hours. The amount of petroleum saved annually by using postconsumer bottles instead of virgin materials in the manufacturing process is enough to supply power to a city the size ofAtlanta for an entire year! To order, visit http://www.quiltbug.com/Batting/dream-green.htm

On to other fun stuff.

Be part of quilting history! Meg Cox, author of Quilters Comprehensive Resource Guide Catalog is looking to the quilting community to help her with her next book. If you are interested, fill out the survey at http://www.megcox.com/meg_cox_2008_survey.htm

I don’t usually pass on virus warnings, but there is a nasty one out there. Be sure to keep your virus checker and your windows updates up to date. HOWEVER - yesterdays windows update caused some people using Zone Alarm to lose their connection with the internet. If you know something having this problem, refer them to: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/pressReleases/2008/LossOfInternetAccessIssue.html

Have you read Judy Martins newsletter? http://www.judymartin.com/newsletter.cfm  It’s always full of interesting stuff, like this story someone sent her:

"My father was completely lost in the kitchen and never ate unless someone prepared a meal for him. When Mother was ill, however, he volunteered to go to the supermarket for her. She sent him off with a carefully numbered list of seven items. Dad returned in short order, very proud of himself. He proceeded to unpack the grocery bags. He had one bag of sugar, two dozen eggs, three hams, four boxes of detergent, five boxes of crackers, six eggplants, and seven green peppers."

And now, for the grand finish: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap080620.html

Enjoy!

Kris
